Active Candidate

Advertised Job

Applicant tracking system (ATS)

This is a software solution that helps automate the recruitment process. It collects and sorts applications, stores resumes, filters applications based on keywords, and helps keep track of candidates through the hiring process.

Employer Branding

Candidate Experience

Cultural Fit

Onboarding

Passive Candidate

The procedure to confirm a candidate’s previous employer, position, performance, and to verify the candidate’s work quality and behavior through a previous manager or colleague.

Social Recruiting

The method of using social media platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. to attract and find candidates. This can include job postings, recruitment campaigns, and networking.

Talent Acquisition

A strategic approach to identifying, attracting, and hiring skilled employees to meet the organization’s current and future needs.

Talent Pool

A collection of candidate profiles – both active and passive job seekers – that an organization has identified as potential hires. These can include previous applicants, referred candidates, former employees, and more.

Phone Interview

A preliminary conversation with a potential candidate to assess their general suitability and interest in a role, before inviting them for a face-to-face interview.

External Recruitment

The process of hiring an employee from outside the organization, typically by publishing a job posting or by using a recruitment agency.

Unsolicited Application

An application sent by a job seeker without a specific position being advertised. This form of application shows initiative and proactivity on the candidate’s part.
